Call for opens and IBIS related patent disclosures: - None AR Review: - Mike add a quail to correct open sink/source in IQ spec 5.6.2 - Not done yet - Bob send Test Keyword Clarification BIRD additions to Mike - Done - The BIRD should be ready for submission - Bob conduct tests of parser behavior - No tests yet New items: Mike showed the BIRD - We agreed it is ready for submission to the open forum AR: Mike submit Test Keyword BIRD to open forum Mike showed parser code for Test Load keyword - Bob: I have parser error messages for us to look at at some point - Mike: The parser does treat [Test Data] and [Test Load] as top level Bob: The BIRD can be folded into the newly formatted IBIS spec - Mike: Who is doing the work? - Bob: A TechAmerica employee or contractor - The BIRD will go into 5.1 - Bob: This may delay the 5.1 work Mike showed the External_Test sample document: - Mike: There was dissent about including multiple SPICE statements in [Test Circuit] - Bob: We have to consider how the tool will handle these files - They may want to read it natively - Mike: Some tools will have to convert - They will always have to create new files - Bob: One problem is how to pass parameters - Mike: We could follow SPICE syntax for that - Bob: The called subckt might itself call other subckts - We could specify one top level subckt Moshiul: You could use the M1.pad syntax for probes too: - Mike showed an alternative with two nodes per line - Bob: Some people may want to use a global ground - Mike: Should we give a way to specify where global ground is attached? - Moshiul: Sometimes the reference may not be ground - Mike: I don't like having params on the same line as subckt info - The file name can't be optional this way - Moshiul: Some languages skip the file name and assume it with an extension - Mike: For example IBIS assumes .pkg extension to find [Define Package Model] - Bob: It is less likely this will be hardcoded into a simulator - They will translate to native language There was some discussion of M1.pad style "Dot language": - Mike: It is used in [External Circuit] - Bob: I think it is EBD that uses it AR: Mike assemble multiple proposals for subckt call styles Next meetings: - Next meetings July 5 and July 12 July 12 agenda: - Test Keyword Clarification BIRD draft Meeting ended at 12:28 Eastern Time.
